Ionion Sails is a family business founded by a father & son team, Vangelis Efstathiou and Gabriel Efstathiou. Nowadays the Ionion Sails team includes more than 30 employees & partners working 12 months per year in order to keep our guests’ satisfaction high!
Since 1995, when Vangelis Efstathiou first started to charter his own boats, he would always inspect all the yachts of the fleet personally due to his passion to provide our guests not only with flawless boats, but also with the feeling of security.
As a professional Mathematician he was the owner of tutoring institutions in Athens, but his heart had always belonged to the sea.
His love for sailing, his insistence on taking care of every single detail on the yachts as well as his values, will always be the cornerstone of Ionion Sails.

Ionion Sails welcomes the second generation of the family.
Gabriel Efstathiou is the co-founder of Ionion Sails and in 2013 he re-launched the sailing business of his dad by growing it and offering new, unique services.
He has worked for more than 11 years as a senior employee in various Multinational companies in Greece, but on the side, from his baby steps, he used to sail and maintain yachts with his father.
Since 2013, when Gabriel overtook the wheel of the company, Ionion Sails has become one of the biggest fleet operators and boat-ownership companies in the Ionian Sea.
This was successfully achieved by developing new technologies, establishing new services, signing exclusive contracts & affiliations with worldwide organizations – agencies as well as insourcing all services needed to make Ionion Sails a five star rated company!

Thalia Zakinthinou is a fluent speaker of English and a real lover of the sea and hospitality.
She is responsible for guests and partners’ relationships and a fast responder!
Christos Aronis is the chief of the technical team as also Ionion Sails’ fleet manager.
Working continuously in the company for 11 years, he has not only become part of Ionion Sails family, but also a board member of the Ionion Sails yacht service company.
As a student of the founder Vangelis Efstathiou, he has a deep knowledge of the yacht technical industry and he is one of the most skillful yacht technicians in the market.
From a to z in the maintenance, up to whatever is needed during the summer season, the crew of Ionion Sails is dedicated to our yachts – all year round!
For our crew, no detail is too small to ensure all our boats are in absolutely perfect condition for our guests!
That’s why Ionion Sails is one of the few companies in the Mediterranean that in-sources all departments needed to ensure the provision of yachts in flawless condition as well as their smooth operation.
